Ceramic Artist David MacDonald at the Community Folk Art Center
The Community Folk Art Center specializes in exhibiting and promoting works by African American artists and artists from under-represented ethnic groups in Central New York. Founded in 1972, the CFAC moved to its current location at 2223 East Genesee Street in 2006. The CFAC is a program of the African American Studies Department at Syracuse University. The center houses the Herbert T. Williams Art Gallery (formerly known as the Community Folk Art Gallery), as well as facilities for workshops and forums. In addition to offering thought-provoking exhibitions, the CFAC also offers many educational programs, including visual arts workshops for children of all ages.
